Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all diving activities, training, courses, charters, guided dives, technical diving, DPV diving, cavern diving, and related services provided by Mahahual Underwater Explorers.
By booking or participating in activities with Mahahual Underwater Explorers, guests acknowledge and agree to the following terms.
Bookings & Payments
A 30% deposit is required to confirm bookings and reservations.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than the business day prior to the scheduled activity unless otherwise agreed.
Bookings are subject to availability and operational conditions.
Cancellations & Refunds
Customer deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation by the customer.
Failure to attend scheduled activities or courses without notice may result in forfeiture of all payments made.
Weather or operational cancellations determined by Mahahual Underwater Explorers and/or relevant local authorities may be rescheduled or refunded at the discretion of Mahahual Underwater Explorers.
Weather & Operational Conditions
All diving activities are subject to weather, ocean, operational, and safety conditions.
Mahahual Underwater Explorers reserves the right to modify, postpone, relocate, or cancel activities where necessary for safety, environmental, operational, or training reasons.
Safety decisions made by Mahahual Underwater Explorers and relevant local authorities are final.
Certification & Experience Requirements
Proof of diving certification and evidence of recent or relevant diving experience may be required prior to participation in certain activities or training programs.
Participation in dives, courses, technical diving, DPV diving, cavern diving, cave diving, or other specialized activities may be restricted or declined based on experience level, certification, equipment, environmental conditions, or safety considerations.
Medical Fitness & Safety
Participants are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to dive.
Medical questionnaires may be required prior to participation in diving activities or training programs. Medical clearance from a physician may also be required where appropriate.
Mahahual Underwater Explorers reserves the right to refuse participation in activities where safety concerns exist
PADI liability releases, medical statements, and related documentation may be required to be completed and signed prior to participation in all activities.
Equipment Responsibility
Divers are responsible for rental equipment while it is in their care.
Lost, damaged, or improperly handled equipment may result in repair or replacement charges.
Additional equipment rental terms and replacement cost information may be provided separately at the time of rental.
Divers using personal equipment are responsible for ensuring their equipment is properly maintained, serviced, configured, and suitable for the planned activity in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and accepted diving practices.
Mahahual Underwater Explorers reserves the right to refuse the use of any equipment considered unsafe, unsuitable, improperly maintained, or not fit for the intended diving activity.
Technical & Specialized Diving
Technical diving, DPV diving, cavern diving, cave diving, decompression diving, and other specialized activities may require additional certifications, prerequisites, experience, and equipment.
Participation in specialized activities is subject to instructor assessment, operational considerations, and safety requirements.
Mahahual Underwater Explorers reserves the right to modify or decline participation in specialized activities where necessary for safety or operational reasons.
Photography & Media
During diving activities, training, or courses, photos and videos may occasionally be captured for educational, safety, promotional, or social media purposes.
Mahahual Underwater Explorers may use selected images or videos on its website, social media platforms, or promotional materials. Guests or students who prefer not to appear in photos or videos may request to opt out at any time prior to or during activities.
Third-Party Services
Certain activities or services may occasionally involve third-party operators, vessels, facilities, transportation providers, or affiliated training partners. Mahahual Underwater Explorers is not responsible for services, actions, or operational decisions provided by third parties.
